STANLEY NEAL BURNETT (07-09-2006) Stanley Neal Burnett, 47, of Elliston, passed away June 7, 2006. Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, June 10, 12:00 noon at Lotz Salem Chapel. Visitation will be two hours prior to the service. Arrangements by Lotz Funeral Home, Salem.
Stanley was one of my best friends in 6th, 7th and 8th grade. I believe he left school to join the army sometime before graduation. We sometimes called him "Goose" because of his long neck or how he ran. One time at Dublin High School, an upperclassman was picking on Stanley. Stanley kicked him in the stomach. (Stanley had some Martial Arts training) The guy(after recovering) said "I'm sorry I thought you were an 8th grader". Stanley WAS an 8th grader. Maybe not an 8th grade "punk", but definitely an 8th grader. Larry B.
I remember "Goose" from Dublin Elem. and DHS. He was always a fun person to be around. He was such a cut up and always making me laugh in elementary school. Poor fella, he got in trouble alot for goofing off but hey, didn't we all? Stanley, we all miss you friend.
